The Xoloitzcuintli Dog

The Xoloitzcuintli is a weird looking dog; that is for sure. They are one of the oldest and most uncommon known dog. They come back from 3,000 years ago! Ok I know Iz a dork, but the world existed back then? OMD!
I wonder what life would have been like then, probably not near the same as it is now. People way back then used to think they were good for healing and had magical powers. Also could be considered as “Life savors” (Not those candies) because they were really good warmers in the cold!

Some people like to call this kind of dog “The Mexican Hairless” – that is an interesting name! I think they look allot like those Chinese Crested dogs.
But personally I think the C-Crested is cuter. Shhh, I did not say that! There is also a miniature versions of this kinda dog.

These dogs are hypoallergenic, they do not shed or stink. Yes, they do not stink, well neither do I if I get a bath. NoDUH!
Anywho, they have huge ears, seriously, they put MY ears to shame. Maybe Iz part Xolo, Iz just going to call it that because it hurts my paws to hype that huge word!

They are really smart, loving and good with kids. Sometimes they get way protective over their humans, so you have to watch out for that!
It is good to socialize them and take them for play when they are puppies like what my peoples do (Zoies Play Date).

Xolo dogs are lazy dogs, they do not like to do much. So they are good apartment dogs and do not need a huge area to run around it. But if you are gone allot, they can become very destructive, and no one likes that! They are not the smallest dogs ever, quite big to me.

Surly they have SOME hair, can you imagine being HAILESS? That would stink, but maybe they wouldn’t get stuff in their fuzziness and everything!

Height Miniature:
Males and Females: 14-20 inches.
Weight Miniature:
15-20 pounds.

Height Larger Ones:
Males and Females: 20-30 inches
Weight Larger Ones:
25-40 pounds

They are really healthy for the most part, sometimes they will have digestive problems. But it is not common. They live a REALLY like time too, 15 to 10 years easily. That is if on a good diet and taken good care of!

They are uber hard to come across. Many people might like them because they live a long time and are hypoallergenic…etc, but good luck finding one! I think my humans should get me one, YES I want my own dog. Although I have a brother, and I sort of own him, he just doesn’t know it yet!

Oh and another thing, if you live somewhere with allot of sun or really cold you have to watch out. Because they have no hair, they can not be in the sun to long or they will get sun burnt. They do like the sun and they need it, just not to much. If it is really cold, they need something to keep them warm they do not have a 24/7 jacket like most doggies!

That is that.
