The Other Side of Philadelphia Sports Animal Abuse
While most news stories that contain the terms, Philadelphia, sports, and animal abuse may lead your mind to Micheal Vick...in today's "dogs in the news" we have another set of names.
Now before you get all flabbergasted and buy your I Hate Philly T-shirt...I want you to hold on and think about the fact that MAYBE, the names that go with the terms above are good. Yes, not all ball players in Philly are animal abusers. In fact there is one Philadelphia Phillies player who is standing up to help abused animals. Ok, he isn't doing so much off the field but, his wife is.
Chase and Jennifer Utley are some good dog people. Jennifer has been a volunteer with the Pennsylvania SPCA and has also created the The Etana Fund to Stop Cruelty Against Animals. They raise money to help law enforcement take a bite out of animal abusers. Yip, they want to save the animals and get the mean people behind the abuse "taken care of". That's my nice way of saying that they should lock them up and throw away the key. The couple is also helping kids learn about animal abuse and prevention.
Now you can see the full story at Baseball Star Chase Utley and Wife Jen Take a Swing Against Animal Abuse.
See, not every pro sports player in Philadelphia is a low life scum bag. I wonder if the Utley's have ever met Mikie Vick?
Let's give a big Paws Up to the Utleys for all they do to help animals!
