The Belgian Malinois comes from Belgium, where they were first seen in 1955. That is not that long ago, really.

They Look JUST Like German Shepherds.
People often think they are German Shepherd dogs when they see them. Even though they are not even related to the GSD. But they do look allot like them.

Are The Trainable?
Belgian Malinois are really smart doggies that love to learn. Like the famous German Shepherd, they can be used as working dogs for police offices. Iz think that would be fun to work with the police guys, then Iz could totally chase things and do my ZOIE ATTACK. Iz look all sweet and stuff and lure them in, then… out of no where… ATTACK! Anywaaays... They always need a job to do, so Iz think it would be fun to hide something from them, and let them find it. Although, Iz do not know if that is the recommended thing to do… it sounds fun! They are REALLY easy to train.

Can They Live in Small Areas?
These dogs are really hyper and love to run, so it is probably best you take them for runs and stuff. Especially if you live in an apartment. Yes, they are good apartment dogs, but if they live in a smaller area, they become really protective of it. So watch out for anyone who knocks on the door. Thems will throw a fit by barking.

Are They Good With Other Animals and Kids?
If you have other pets that are not other dogs, you need to be careful when introducing them. Iz would say, if you have not had them since they were puppies where they would be used to the other animals, do not get one of these dogs.
They are really good with kids though, so that is nothing to worry about.

Do They Shed?
Belgians do not shed that much most times. During the summer they will shed allot, but if you brush them with one of those Wire Brushes. It should be fine.

Size.
Height: Males: 24-26 inches
Females: 22-24 inches
Weight: 55-65 pounds same for girls.

Health.
Their average life is about 12-14 years.
They do not have many common health problems. The most common thing is skin cancer, but that is unlikely. They will not get anything any other dog could not get.

Zoie Talking.
I think they look really cool, Iz want to be one when Iz grow up. But, I think Iz said that about the last dog breed. Oh no, Iz do not even know what I wanna be when Iz grow up. Zed says, “You’re just going to be ZOIE when you grow up”. Psshhh, whatever Zed!
