Most peoples do not really appreciate it when their puppy or dog bites them. Well, my peoples have been teaching me how NOT to do that. Especially us puppies, we do not want to be mean, we just do not know any different – That is how we play! But there are many different ways to play (I am still figuring this out) but I am getting the hang of it.

If my peoples say “OUCH” in a really high pitched voice, I do not like it, so I try to stop biting. My ears do not really like that either! Zed went through this too when he was a puppy, and he does not bite.

I remember when my mommy would yelp at me when I was not supposed to be doing something. It is kind of the same thing, only in peoples version. Do not bite the hands that feed you (I heard that so many times), THAT IS NO GOOD!

I am learning really good, but us puppies need something to chew on – so if you do not have any chewies or toys we are going to chew on everything else! Including those awesome fingers of yours, and sometimes when you are asleep we like to gnaw on your toes!


I just wanted to share that with everyone – and hopefully you learned that if you say “OUCH” it will sometimes help. But you have to keep doing it every time we bite or we will not learn. Something else to know – when you are teaching us puppies anything, you have to keep to it, do not get frustrated and stop. Also, you have to do the same type of training, for example: If you say “OUCH” when we bite one time and then say “NO” the next – we will get soooo confused. Figure out which word you are going to use for each action.
