Old English Sheep Dog
The Old English Sheep Dog it a Herding dog. That’s what they were born to do. They were first shown in Britain in 1873. From then on it became and very popular dog for many things.
Farmers used to cut the dogs hair when they sheared the sheep. It was so much easier that way. They would use the dogs hair do make things with. Such as, blankets, pillows…etc.

They are very good family dogs even if you have little kids. Remember, they always want to herd, so don’t freak out if the start herding your kids up. That’s what they were born to do and it will never be taken away from them. They don’t bite; they just like to gather everyone up in one place.
They do shed ALLOT mostly in the spring time. Their coats are very thick and you HAVE to take care of them. They need brushed a few times a day, to keep the hair from matting. If there is matting it’s best to cut it out neatly so that it does not get worse. They need to go get groomed (Hair cut) about every 1-2 mouths, just to take an inch or so off. Their hair does grow very fast.
Some people like their hair short, some prefer it long. Your choice.
They’re not the best dog to own if you live in something like an apartment. They need a big area to run in.
Most of them live about 10-12 years on a good diet.
They are not known for any common heath problems.

This dogs accessories should totally be a HUGE bed, and a rhinestone collar (even though you couldn't see) would still be soo cool. I have seen a few of them on the internetz that have cool hair bows, though you might need a pretty big one for all that hair.
Be sure to see our section of Plush SheepDogs. These great pups will always brighten your day.
