Las Vegas Petapalooza 2011

Party time pups!! That's right it is that time of year...Petapalooza 2011 is near!

Everyone give a big bark out to an awesome way to spend the day! Great music all day by top artist! Yes, people that you know will be out there to entertain us all day.

There will be lots of great booths for everyone to enjoy! I bet you will be most excited to see all the pups that show up!

Speaking of pups...yes, dogs are allowed. They do need to be secured on a leash at ALL times. Even though we know that all the dogs are usually sweeties...it is best that they are on a leash. You just never know who might be a little bit grumpy if they are not used to being around so many people. There will also be lots of families with lil kids and we don't want an excited pup to accidentally knock down a lil one.

Oh, if you are taking kids...make SURE you explain to the kids that they MUST never approach or touch a dog without asking the owner. Most of the dogs are very friendly and might like a lil ear rub but, some of the dogs may not see the child and get startled. We want the kids and pets to have a great time.

OK, here are the details....

David Cook ( American Idol season 7 WINNER)

JasonGuys, really? David Cook WON American Idol in 2008. His first major label CD went platinum immediately and did all kinda Billboard damage in 2009. You've got GOLD coming out for you, better hawk it well!

ZedSorry we got the Davids mixed up. My bad! David Cook was the WINNER!

Last year Kris Allen was at Petapalooza and we were impressed that he took the time to help out the animals. Over at an American Idol blog they have a picture of Kris from the event. http://idol-mania.com/american-idol-fan/2011/03/08/david-cook-to-perform-at-las-vegas-petapalooza-4-9-11/

Seeing all these great names come out to an event like this is awesome. And people can get right up to the stage.

We are really excited!

PomWellingtonExcuse me, but I guess you need a fact checker maybe, cuz ummm, David Cook was not American Idol Runner Up, that would have been David Archuleta. David Cook won Season 7 of American Idol by a landslide and is (in this fan's humble opinion the best thing to ever have come out of that show and I cannot wait to see him next month! Thanks so much for booking him :)

Natalie FontaneFYI, there's nothing on the Mix 94.1 website that says admission is reduced if you bring pet food. I know that they've done it in the past, but when I spoke with the show director, he said that they weren't going to do it this year. I was considering selling my handmade pet toys there, but I can't afford the $700 booth fee. I will be visiting with my ferret if the weather is nice. I don't care much for the bands playing, so I'm glad I won't be near the crowd at the stage.

Name withheldThis was our first time going to Pet Palooza and it was an extreme disappointment. We had to pay $7.00 to park and another $8.00 each to get inside in order to spend more money on food, drinks, and booths (along with everyone else). This event has NOTHING to do with pets - it has all to do with being greedy. The booths and events were all right on top of each other even though there was tons of land to expand. It made trying to get around diffucult and stressful. Also - why are chairs not allowed since they have NO place to sit once inside? It was a major disappointment and we will never go again. I noticed the website does not say who runs this event (ie: who pockets all of the proceeds) even though it states a "portion" of the amount goes to charity. If they really cared about animal rescue ALL of the funds would go to the charities!!
