Aussiedoodle

by Zed Email

The Aussiedoodle, also known as Aussiepoo, is a mix of two breeds: Poodle and Australian Shepherd. Makes sense that they gave it that name.
This is what they call a Hybrid, hybrids are becoming very common lately, must be getting bored of all the other dogs.

They are fairly good dogs, they have great personalities and are very hyper. They are good with other animals, and great with kids.
Australian Shepherds are herding dogs, so the Aussiedoodle does like to round up its people.

They are very intelligent and love to take orders (As long as it’s not too many of course). This dog is NOT recommended as a good watch dog, they get easily distracted, and they won’t keep someone away, they want the attention.

They are not hard to groom, of course it depends on the type of hair, and it comes in different styles. Some of them need to be clipped once in a while, depending on how you want their hair to be. Some of them, have allot of problems with their ears, they get exes wax and dirt gets in there. Be sure and clean them regularly.

They like to run ALLOT, so it’s best to have a large yard or farm for them to run on, they are not a good god to have if you live in a small area.

Weight:
Male: 25-70 pounds
Female: 25-70 pounds

Height:
Male:
14-23 inches

Female: 14-23 inches

I personally, think they have a funny name, Aussiepoodle. I could say that over and over. HA!

Bernese Mountain Dog

by Tomarra Email

The Bernese Mountain Dog is a very intelligent dog, that loves everyone. They are big dogs, but they are practically harmless. They are excellent with children, and also with other pets. Sometimes they tend to be a pain in the butt sometimes, BMD’s never really stop being a puppy, or trying to be.

They are very social dogs, and are not recommended to be kept outside to live. Also, if you live in something like an apartment, they would not be the best dog for you. Also, if you live in really hot areas, that’s not the best for them.

The only common health problems are, joint issues and they are prone to cancer (No particular kind).

They shed ALLOT, not recommended from people that have allergies. A good brushing everyday should minimize the shedding a bit.

They are believed to be from Switzerland, but that’s not a known fact, they don’t exactly know where they came from originally.

Studies have shown, that just a few years ago, these dogs lived allot longer then what they do now. So many people do not breed them properly or over breed them, something that is happening with allot of dogs. Before, they would live from 10-12 years, now its 6-8, normally.

Height Males: 23-28 inches.
Height Females: 22-27 inches.
Weight Males: 85-110.
Weight Females: 80-105.

Overall they are a pretty cool dog, not to mention how freakin’ cute they are. I kind of look like them. I have brown, black and white on me. Though, I guess that doesn’t count when I’m a Rat Terrier, Jack Russell, something or another. Ha!

Jack Russell Terrier

by Tomarra Email

I thought this would be an awesome article to write because it’s about Jack Russell’s, and I mean come on, how awesome are we?! I know fer sher we are going to rule the world.

Jack Russell’s are genially good dogs to have, they do have tempers. THAT’S FOR SURE! They are not recommended if you have little kids, they are super hyper. They can live in about any area, apartment and house, don’t really matter. Of course like any dog, it’s always best to have a yard, but that’s just a give me. Most of them do LOVE to run and dig.

Training one of them can be very difficult, they often train their owners before the owners get a chance to train them. This I know for a fact. Ha! Don’t think for a second they are stupid dogs, actually they are quite intelligent. They just choose to not listen, they are very stubborn.

They have problems with little dog syndrome. Ha, it’s actually very common. They tend be nasty with other dogs, thinking they are king/queen of the world. Do not let them pick up that habit, they’ll end up getting their butts kicked in the long run. UNCOOL.

Jacks actually originated from England and got there name from Reverend John Russell, “John” became “Jack”. They have only been around 200 years, really not that long when you think about it.

People often mistake Jack Russell’s for Parson Russell’s. Difference is one is a little bigger and hairier. Zed is actually a Parson Russell, but since most people have no idea what that is, we call him a jack. Or I often call him a Jack A**. That’s just me though.

As far as their coats go, they do shed allot, longer haired ones don’t so much. They are known to have knee problem and joint issues, that’s most times cause from muscle. Their life span is anywhere between 10-15 years, if healthy.

So yes, we are wonderful dogs, and I must say the cutest dogs out there.

The Akbash

by Tomarra Email

The Akbash is not the most popular of dog breeds. Most don’t even know what an Akbash is. They originally come from Turkey, where they were bred for protecting livestock. They are all white now, because only the white ones survived back in the day. They were brought the U.S in the 1970’s where they were seen by the UKC (United Kennel Club).

The Akbash is not a recommended dog for someone with little kids. They are very protective of their owner(s) and they don’t really like strangers, or little kids that may be rough and rowdy.

Though their coat is very pretty, it does take allot of work to get that way. They are double coated, and each coat is very thick. They do shed allot, so you must keep up on brushing them. It’s not recommended to give them regular baths, their skin and hair will dry out very quick. Give them a bath if necessary and use very little shampoo. Sometimes their hair does mat, but not very often.

They’re fairly difficult to train, and don’t like taking commands. Doesn’t mean you can’t train them, it’s just very hard and you need some serious patients. They need attention all the time, they become very apart from their owner(s).

They are NOT good apartment dogs, or not good if you’re gone allot. They are a big dog, and they need a big space. For years they have lived on farms and been able to run all the time. It’s best you have a good size yard for these dogs.

Most live from about 10 to 13 years on a good diet.

Male’s Height - 28 to 34
Female’s Height - 28 to 34

Male’s Weight - 90 to 140
Female’s Weight - 90 to 140

These dogs may need giant bed’s that’s for sure. I don’t know as you could find an hair accessories in all that hair, it might get lost.

Old English Sheep Dog

by Tomarra Email

The Old English Sheep Dog it a Herding dog. That’s what they were born to do. They were first shown in Britain in 1873. From then on it became and very popular dog for many things.

Farmers used to cut the dogs hair when they sheared the sheep. It was so much easier that way. They would use the dogs hair do make things with. Such as, blankets, pillows…etc.

Old English Sheep Dog

They are very good family dogs even if you have little kids. Remember, they always want to herd, so don’t freak out if the start herding your kids up. That’s what they were born to do and it will never be taken away from them. They don’t bite; they just like to gather everyone up in one place.

They do shed ALLOT mostly in the spring time. Their coats are very thick and you HAVE to take care of them. They need brushed a few times a day, to keep the hair from matting. If there is matting it’s best to cut it out neatly so that it does not get worse. They need to go get groomed (Hair cut) about every 1-2 mouths, just to take an inch or so off. Their hair does grow very fast.
Some people like their hair short, some prefer it long. Your choice.

They’re not the best dog to own if you live in something like an apartment. They need a big area to run in.

Most of them live about 10-12 years on a good diet.

They are not known for any common heath problems.

Weight: Male: 70-90.
Female: 60-80 pounds
Height: Male: 22.
Female: 21 inches

This dogs accessories should totally be a HUGE bed, and a rhinestone collar (even though you couldn't see) would still be soo cool. I have seen a few of them on the internetz that have cool hair bows, though you might need a pretty big one for all that hair.

The Shih Tzu

by Tomarra Email

As you can tell by looking at one, they need more care then allot of other breeds, especially with their hair. They need brushing everyday if possible and they could use a good haircut every once in a while. Though, they might need some good hair accessories. I personally think other dogs with allot of hair look so good with them. Since I don’t have enough hair to wear them… Sad I know.

shih tzu

Even though they have all that hair, they do not shed that much (unlike me) and they are a very good dogs for people who may have allergies.

Yes, they are very good family dogs, but not recommended if there are little kids. They don’t like being grabbed hard or thrown around. I don’t like that either. Be nice to us doggies.

A Shih Tzu can live up to 10-15 years. On a good diet and well taken care of. The most known health problems for them are kidney infections and eye problems. You can buy doggie eye drops for them, because they do tend to have quite a few problems with their eyes.

More often then not, they have some problems with their breathing. Most likely when they drink water. It’s best to watch that. Because their noses are smashed up and flat, they can suck water up their noses. Though I can’t laugh, I do that all the time.

They absolutely LOVE being spoiled, but often get jealous when you ignore them. They are not a great dog if you are gone allot, they get lonely very easily. Oh I know how they feel, if my people were gone. I’d be sad too.

They are defiantly a good dog to pamper with awesome accessories, such as fancy bed, collars. All that good stuff.

Weight 9 - 16 lbs - Depends on how many treats they get.
Height: 8 - 11 inches.
